Born in Maryland, moved to Adams County, Pennsylvania about 1850. At age 25 was married to Catherine Ernstberger; moved to Cumberland County 5 years later; moved to Kansas about 1883; settled in Buckeye Township in Dickinson County; moved into Abilene about 1887. Survived by wife and 2 daughters, Mrs. E. E. Holler of Abilene and Mrs. John Garver of Buckeye Township.
