On the 1900 US Census, Maud was enumerated as living at home with her parents however her surname was given as "Andrus" and she was noted as being married within the last year. This appears to have been a brief marriage to Charles S. Andrus who was 25 years old while Maud was only 15. The marriage took place across the river border from Detroit in Windsor, Essex, Ontario, Canada in Jun 1899. Apparently they were quickly divorced and by 1906 she was remarried to J. Harvey Rand.
