⁴ Mrs. Sarah J. Mead, 77 years old, died at 9 a. m. Saturday at her home two miles south of Bluejacket.

She had lived in the Bluejacket vicinity for the last 13 years. She was a charter member of the Royal Neighbors at Silver Lake, KS, and had been a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving her are eight daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Kennett of Lawrence, KS.; Mrs. Effie McConnell of Topeka, KS. Mrs. Olia Sorinsher [Ola Scrimisher] of Parker, Wash.; Mrs. Etta Curtis of Kirby, Wash.; Mrs. Ivy Krubel of Miami; Mrs. Herchel Smith of Miami, Mrs. Vivian Mays of Bluejacket and Mrs. Pansy Webb of Miami; three sons, Chauncey Mead of Chetopa, KS., William Mead of Miami and Galen Mead of Caspar, WY.; 26 grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Church of Christ, west of Bluejacket. The Rev. Morton Woodward of North Miami will officiate. Pallbearers will be Harold Nix, P. A. Gagsdale, Bill Bluejacket, Buck Dicks, Lawrence Williams and Paul Holden. Burial will be in G. A. R. cemetery under direction of the Lane Funeral home.
