bullet  General Notes:

Many researchers, myself initially, are incorrectly showing that this daughter was named Mary Catherine. Further investigation in March 2014 reveals that the Mary Catherine Ernsberger who was born in 1834 was not the same as the Catherine Ernsperger born in 1831.

Catherine Ernsperger married Charles Jackson, and they both are buried in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery, the same cemetery as her parents and most of the other members of the Ernsperger family. Mary Catherine Ernsberger married William Overmyer and they were buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

The most informative document would seem to be the obituary for the mother, Julia Ann Ensminger, on 25 Dec 1896 in which it states: "Several sons and daughters were born to them of whom are F. M. [Francis Marion] Ernsperger, B. F. [Frank ?] Ernsperger, Mrs. [Catherine] Chas. Jackson, Mrs. [Maria] Samuel Keely, Mrs. [Melissa] A. J. Davidson, Mrs. Dr. Nafe, Mrs. Bates, and Mrs. [Caroline] Aaron Beery."

Notice that it specifically mentions Mrs. [Catherine] Chas. Jackson thus proving that it was her daughter, Catherine Ernsperger, that married Charles Jackson and that the Mary Catherine Ernsberger that married William Overmyer are not part of this family.

The problem with confirming this change is that I have yet to find a marriage record for Catherine Ernsperger and Charles Jackson yet there is clear evidence of the marriage of Mary Catherine Ernsberger to William Overmyer. Likewise, there seems to be no death certificate for Catherine Jackson but a posting on Find-A-Grave does indicates a funeral service for Catherine Jackson in Jul 1922.
