"Russell Lee Kirkpatrick, 74 of 113 Victory Avenue, died at 5:50 PM yesterday at the Saint Joseph Hospital. A native of Scott, he was a son of the late Charles Ford and Allie Kirkpatrick. He was a retired University of Kentucky policeman and was a member of the Broadway Christian Church and Lexington Lodge No. 1, F.&A.M. A former member of the American Legion, he was a Past Commander of the 40 and 8.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Hattie Davidson Kirkpatrick, two daughters, Mrs. Irvine Byars, Lexington, and Mrs. W. C. House, Versailles; a brother J. B. (should be 'D') Kirkpatrick, Lockport, NY; two sisters, Mrs. Eugene Kanalz, Parkersburg, W. Virginia., and Mrs. Mae Barkley, Pompano Beach, Fla., three grandchildren; Sharon House, Kirk Byars and Irvine Byars III, and two great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 PM today."
