bullet  Marriage Notes:

The Linn County, Oregon area is a region of relatively flat farm land in the midst of mountain ranges all around. It is the self-proclaimed "Grass Seed Capitol of the World". The Harrisburg area hosts a sizeable Mennonite Church population. The Alford Cemetery is a typical rural cemetery that first opened in 1853 and continues with new burials to this day (September 2002). The graves of Simon and Rachel are next to an area with many of the original Alford graves for which this cemetery is named.
