No marriage document for Charlotte and Avon Arnsberger has yet been found. In the 1930 US Census they are shown together with Charlotte's daughter from a previous marriage. That daughter, Shirley, was incorrectly shown with a surname of Arnsberger. She had to be from a previous marriage of Charlotte's because her birth year of about 1920 and birth location of Minnesota was at a time when Avon was married to his first wife, Odell Thesswechter, and living together in Nebraska according to the 1920 US Census.

Charlotte's maiden name is not known but the 1940 US Census correctly list the daughter as Shirley A. Schafer. No record of a marriage between Charlotte and a Schafer has yet been found.
