  Marriage Notes:

The 1930 and 1940 US Census records show Katherine Amlong living with and apparently married to Keith Poffenbarger. No marriage record can be located and there is no other information about Keith Poffenbarger.

However, there was perhaps another or the same Keith Elias Poffenbarger, son of Bert and Ethel Poffenbarger, who was born in the same year about 1901 in Illinois. He appears with his parents in the 1910 and 1920 US Census in New Boston, Mercer County, Illinois. On 12 Jun 1920 he was married to Martha Jean Baner in Aurora, Kane County, Illinois. He died on 26 Apr 1947 in Rock Island, IL but the death records indicate his wife's name at that time was Helen C. Cramer.

If this is all the same Keith Poffenbarger, then his marriages seem to have gone like this:

To complicate this slightly, there is a 1930 US Census for a Keith Poffenbarger who was enumerated on 8 Apr 1930 and was living as a roomer in Muscatine, IA. He was listed as married for about 5 years but there is no wife or other family members listed with him. His occupation was a Salesman for Life Insurance. Based on his exact same age, exact same occupation, and exact same age when married, this certainly seems to be the same Keith Poffenbarger. It is not know why he was separated from his wife at the time. This enumeration in Muscatine was 11 days prior to his enumeration with his wife, Katherine, in Aledo, Mercer County, Illinois.

In addition, there is a death record of an infant born in Chicago on 7 May 1948 and died the next day whose father's name was Keith Poffenbarger. The infant was buried the next day in New Boston, Mercer County, IL. The mother's name was shown as Rosemary Mazzochi. But because of the death date of Keith Elias Poffenbarger known to be 26 Apr 1947, this infant that was born in May 1948 means that the same Keith Poffenbarger could not be the father.

That means that there was at least two different Keith Poffenbargers with direct ties to the New Boston, Mercer County area. I have been unable to locate any other parents or family members to which the second Keith Poffenbarger could be from.
