Rosaltha married Orlando M. Darner, son of Joseph Henry Darner and Hetty Ann Outcalt, on 20 September 1877 in Red Oak, IA.1 The marriage ended in divorce. (Orlando M. Darner was born on 8 February 1849 in Zanesville, OH 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 and died in 1935 in Ottumwa, IA 11.)

bullet  Noted events in their marriage were:

NOTE - The un-named wife on the census is a mystery. His wife, Rosa, must have been separated from Orlando at the time and she was enumerated as living with their child, Mary, back home with her father in Iowa. It is unknown who this un-named "wife" could have been.

It is not 100% certain that this was the correct Orlando Darner but if it were, then Orlando and Rosa apparently split up while living in Iowa. Rosa took the young daughter with her to her father's house while Orlando headed west to Kansas for a while. They apparently got back together after a few years because Rosa gave birth to 2 more children.

.

• Orlando M. Darner and Rosaltha Elizabeth McElrath were divorced before 1895.
