• His obituary was published in November 1994 in Cedar County, IA. Funeral services for James Harlan Reeder, 83, Tipton, were held Nov. 28, 1994 at Fry Funeral home in Tipton, with the Rev. Norman Anderson officiating. Kathy Worrell was the organist and pallbearers were Mark Worrell and Dennis, Russell, Larry, Robert, and Brent Streets. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Mr. Reeder died of pneumonia Nov. 24 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City. The son of Frank and Mae Linn Reeder, he was born August 1, 1911 in rural Tipton. He graduated from Tipton high school in 1928 and Tipton Community College in 1930. He attended the University of Iowa for 3 1/2 years. Mr. Reeder farmed near Tipton until 1945 and then began work as assistant to the Treasurer at the Cedar County courthouse. He became Cedar County Treasurer Jan. 1, 1949 and retired Dec. 31, 1978. He was a member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge and a past member of the Tipton Moose Lodge. Mr. Reeder is survived by 2 sisters, Ruby Streets, Tipton and Audrey Reeder, West Branch; 3 nephews, Larry Streets, West Branch, Robert and Russell Streets, Letts; and several great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assn.
