The gravestone is a large flat marker made of rose colored marble. Across the top edge is the name LINN in large block letters. On the left side it reads: Josephine A., 1927- "(the year of death will be filled in upon her death). On the right side it reads "Eugene L., 1928-1993". Along the bottom edge it reads "Parents of Rebecca E. Thomas". It appears her middle initial is engraved incorrectly because other records indicate her middle name as "Dee".

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation. Only family will attend the funeral services and are encouraged to wear a mask and exercise social distancing within groups. Private family funeral services will be 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, at Warner Funeral Home Chapel in Spencer and will be livestreamed on the Warner Funeral Home Facebook page. Pastor Jonathon Caldwell will officiate, with special music provided by Rebecca Linn. Pallbearers will be Jeff Gavason, Micah Linn, Caleb Linn, Cailey Linn, Calissa Linn, Micayla Linn, Renee James and Troy James. Burial will be in the Pee Dee Cemetery, rural Springdale, Iowa.

Josephine Amanda Jones was born August 26, 1927, in Avondale, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Amanda (Allabaugh) Jones. Her childhood years were spent in Plymouth, Pennsylvania. She graduated from West Nanticoke High School in 1945. She moved to Burlington. She married Eugene Lamar Linn on February 14, 1959, in Burlington. Together they moved to Springdale, where Eugene was a Baptist minister of the local church. The family later moved to Spencer. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for 52 years and loved her profession of caring for the needs of others. Eugene preceded her in death on February 23, 1993. She loved being a pastor's wife. She was known for her sacrificial and selfless love. She loved to read her Bible, led women's Bible studies and singing in church choirs. She enjoyed gardening with her husband. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca Linn of Winterset; one daughter-in-law, Amber Linn of Norwalk, CA; six grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Linn of Charlotte, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Thomas Linn and one sister, Faith Gaveson.

Josephine married Rev. Eugene Lamar Linn, son of Earl Andrew Linn and Clara Hannah Stiff, on 14 February 1959 in Burlington, IA.² (Rev.
