  General Notes:

Was not listed on the 1900 US Census with his family when he would have been about 7 years old. A brother named George W. Kernan was listed on the 1900 Census also with a Dec 1893 birth date. I wonder if George W. Kernan and Walter Paul Kernan are not the same person. Or perhaps they were born twins.

Walter Paul Kernan is not found in the 1910 US Census.

The 1920 census shows him living with his older married brother, William in Tennessee.

1930 and 1940 US Census records show him living alone in California.
