Wilmer's middle name is a little bit of a mystery. The birth register book of Muskingum County, Ohio clearly has his middle name recorded as Marshal yet other records such as his World War II Draft Registration Card as well as his obituary states a middle initial of H and many researchers show his middle name to be Hosic.

• His obituary was published in the Unknown newspaper in September 1955 in Mansfield, OH.

3 Services for Wilmer H. Darner, 56, of Mansfield, native of Adamsville, will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Shirer & Sons funeral home in Adamsville. Rev. William High will officiate. Burial will be in New Hope cemetery.

Mr. Darner died at 12:20 o'clock Thursday afternoon in Richland hospital in Mansfield after a lingering illness.

He was born Dec. 15, 1896, the son of Henry and Louisa Geyer Darner.

Surviving are a daughter, Eileen of Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Fluharty of Crooksville, and Mrs. Freda Stewart of Akron; a brother, Alva Darner, 729 Elm Street, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The body will remain at the funeral home.
