The birth of Octavius which would have been about January or February of 1850 according to the 1850 census would seem to be too soon after the birth of Joseph Fast who was supposedly born in Dec 1849. Because the name of Octavius was listed on the 1850 census with a somewhat more exact date of birth given as "5 months old", this would suggest that the birth date of Joseph Fast was most likely much earlier than the Dec 1849 date offered by other researcher.
