The 1820 and 1830 census shows Solomon living in Sugarcreek Township. In the 1840 census, Solomon did not appear in Ohio. However, an S. Cramer did appear (page 212) in Greene, Sugar Creek Township. In the 1850 U.S. census, Solomon Cramer is again listed in Sugarcreek Township. In the mid 1800s, perhaps 1852, he is said to have moved his family to Champaign County on the Illinois frontier. Solomon died in 1854, at 73 years of age. He went out to drive deer from eating the corn and was found dead in the field, perhaps from a heart attack. He was buried about 2 miles from where he and most of the family lived, 12-14 miles northwest of Champaign.

Solomon was born near Frederick, Maryland. He and his wife lived in Greene County or Warren County, Ohio. In addition to the seven children listed, there may have been an eighth, Isaac. In the early 1850s, he moved his family to Champaign County, Illinois.

They had 8 children. One source has them getting married in Ohio.

The two different burial locations for Solomon and Barbara are strange. Barbara is buried in Greene County, Ohio where most of their children were born. Solomon is buried in Champaign County, Illinois where he died 4 years after his wife. Some researchers report that the entire family had moved to Illinois in the early 1850s but that doesn't support the fact that Barbara had died in 1850 in Greene County, Ohio. Perhaps after her death, Solomon moved to Illinois with one or more of his children where he lived out his final years.
