  General Notes:

Will, 1877, left one farm to wife for her natural life and then to Anne Boal, to be managed by Francis Boal. This would seem to be the Anne Jorden of the 1850 census. The remaining land he owned was left to his nephews, sons of his brother Phillip: John, Andrew and Henson Darner. Executor of estate was his nephew George J. Darner, son of his brother Jacob.

  Birth Notes:

John' exact birth and death dates are somewhat clouded. Even his name and burial location are not real known for certain.

According to the notes from the Find A Grave Memorial, 131049164, a Death Record in Muskingum County shows that he died on 14 Aug 1879, aged 62y, 11, and 14d which results in a calculated birth date of 31 August 1816 which seems to fit in the time frame for the marriage of his parents who were married in June of 1816. The Find A Grave memorial gives his birth date as 10 July 1804 which doesn't even fit with the other information provided there about his age at death.

There are others that give his death date as 8 June 1877 because the gravestone reads June 1877. Given his age at death, that would provide a birth date of 25 June 1814 which is well before his parents were married.

Still others have interpreted the age on the gravestone to indicate 52y instead of 62y.

The Find A Grave memorial also mentions that his true name was John Phillip Darner or perhaps Phillip John Darner which makes one wonder if this gravesite is for the same person or not.

  Burial Notes:

Located in Yeary Orchard. From Adamsville, take SR. 208 N., right on Edgemoor Rd., left on Yeary Rd. Just one huge stone down and partly buried. A fence surrounds the stone. "Darner, John 1877, 52yrs". No other stones in view.

(Rebecca Jordan was born in January 1811 in Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland, United States,³ died on 2 June 1877 in Muskingum, Ohio, United States and was buried in June 1877 in John Darner Cemetery, Adamsville, Muskingum, Ohio, United States.)

NOTE - I do not know who Elizabeth Steiner was but there was another Elizabeth A. Steiner, born about 1832 in New Jersey who married Henry Darner, born 1831 in Ohio. They were married in Adams Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. This certainly sounds like the same Elizabeth Steiner, except for the birth location, but I am not sure.
