10. Obituary: Muscatine Journal, 13 September 1966, Muscatine, Muscatine, Iowa, United States. ¹⁴ Edgar M. Crees, 86, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday at his home on Rt. 2, in Bloomington Township.

Mr. Crees, a farmer, had lived in Cedar county until retiring in 1953 when he moved to Muscatine county.

He was born April 1, 1880, in Cedar county, the son of Joseph W. and Jane Linn Crees. He was married Sept. 8, 1909, in Cedar county to M. Grace Carney.

He was a member of the Atalissa Christian church; a 60-year member of Golden Rule Lodge No. 24 A.F. & A.M. of Rochester, a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star Atalissa, and a township trustee from 1929 to 1953.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. M. Grace Crees, at home; two sons, Leonard E. Crees of Suitland, Maryland, and Ivan W. Crees of Davenport; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Inez) Rogers of Muscatine; three sisters, Mrs. Estella Adams of Bettendorf, Mrs. Alice Black of Blackwell, Okla., and Mrs. Luella Fiderlein of Atalissa; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters.

The body is at the George M. Wittich funeral home, where services are pending.
