Newell Joseph Darner 1 2 3 4 5 6
1. Alt. Birth, 14 July 1898. 6 This date appears on his gravestone and is probably incorrect. His name does not appear with his parents on the 1900 US Census when he would have been about 2 years according to this age. In fact, his mother indicated that she had given birth to only 1 child on the 1900 US Census and that was James Erwin Darner. Therefore, Newell's birth date must have been after the 1900 US Census. He appears on the 1905 and 1915 South Dakota State Census with the family and his age provides a birth year of 1901 instead of the 1898 that appears on the grave. 2. 1905 South Dakota State Census, June 1905, Yankton, Yankton, South Dakota, United States. 1 1905 South Dakota State Census 3. 1910 US Census, 28 April 1910, Yankton, Yankton, South Dakota, United States. 2 1910 US Census 4. 1915 South Dakota State Census, June 1915, Yankton, Yankton, South Dakota, United States. 3 Cards 142 through 145
