General Notes:
(Source: E-mail from Keith A. Dull) William was apprenticed to a carpenter after his father died. William moved to Fairfax County, Virginia with his brother, Samuel, but records for them in that county are scarce.
Daniel's son, Samuel, is almost certainly the man of that name who went to Fairfax County on 23 November 1808. Samuel Lightfoot, aged about 59, made a deposition (Prince William County, Virginia, Land Causes 1805-1816, p. __) that he is a tenant on land on Holmes Run owned by Thomas Herbert and has been since 1804. Samuel was in Fairfax as early as 1782 when he appears regularly on the personal property tax books. ----------------------------------------
