bullet  Marriage Notes:

Although Solomon and Mary Ann were married in Ashland County, Ohio, they almost immediately moved to Indiana where their first 6 children were born. They then moved on to Iowa by 1863 where another 6 children were born. They settled in Marion County, Iowa where Mary had at least 2 brothers and 1 half-brother living there.

By 1875, several of their children were married in living in the Marion County, Iowa area so Solomon and Mary decided to move once again with still at least 6 children to Oregon where their last child, Ida, was born.

Apparently not finding Oregon to their liking, what appears to be the entire family moves back to Adams County, Iowa where one of Mary's married sisters, Ann Catherine, was living. The 1880 Census in Nodaway, Adams County, Iowa shows Solomon and Mary living there with 6 children.

However, at some point Mary Ann and most of the children return to Oregon and Solomon goes back to Knoxville, Marion County, Iowa. They owned quite a bit of property in Marion County, Iowa at one time, but Solomon ended up at the County Poor Farm and died there. Mary Ann and her son, Jesse, came to be quite prominent citizens in the McMinnville, Oregon area.
