• His obituary was published in the Calhoun Chronicle on 18 July 1911 in Grantsville, WV.
It is with the deepest regret and sorrow that we chronicle the death of Master Waitman T. W. Hathaway, the two-month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred S. Hathaway, and the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Dye of this place.
The little fellow had recently contracted whooping cough, but was not considered in a dangerous condition until Saturday evening when a brain trouble developed, and early Sunday morning its little soul crossed the dark river, and its earthly agonies were o'er. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ware, at the home, after which a large number of people accompanied the remains to Bethlehem cemetery where they were laid to rest with appropriate ceremonies.
The Chronicle extends its sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones in their sad loss.
