Jennings O. "Buck" Gainer, 58, of Dover, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 199 5, at Lakeland Regional Hospital, Lakeland, Fla., after being injured at work.

He was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Calhoun, a son of the late Cleo and Phelma Hathaway Gainer. He once played pro football in Massillon, Ohio, and was a former heavyweight boxing champion in Florida. He worked at IMC-AGRICO Corp. in Florida and attended Church of God, Plant City, Fla.

Surviving are a son, Keith Rodney "Rocky" Gainer of Margate, Florida; a brother, Delbert "Bo" Gainer of Grantsville; and three sisters, Greta Marks, Wanza Marsh and Emma Wease, all of Grantsville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Delma Whytsell.

Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Glendon McKee officiating. Burial was in Saint Paul Cemetery, near Grantsville.
