  General Notes:

NOTE - Lloyd Fowler either didn't know his birth year or he lied about his age through most of the census records. He always seemed to understate his age by 7-10 years. The 1860 census shows him at age 8 thereby setting his birth year to about 1852. Some census records would seem to provide a birth year after 1860 even though he appeared in the 1860 census. Even his gravestone shows him 5 years younger than he really was.

Lloyd was enumerated twice in the 1920 US Census. The first time was on 2 Mar 1920 which shows him living with his son, Obert. Lloyd's occupation was given on a laborer on a farm. The second enumeration was about one month later on 3 Apr 1920 which shows Lloyd living with his two daughters, Abbey and Ruby. His occupation was given as a laborer on an oil field.

I'm not sure how apart those two residences were but the first was shown as the Russit(?) Precinct and the second was the White Pine Precinct. Each residence was in a different enumeration district with the first as ED 22 and the second as ED 23.

Lloyd married Mahala Jane Huffman, daughter of Absolom Huffman and Edith Barr, on 9 December 1888 in Calhoun County, WV.^{1 2} (Mahala Jane Huffman was born on 31 March 1863 in Calhoun County, VA,^{1 10 11} died on 29 November 1899 in Calhoun County, WV ^{1 11} and was buried on 29 November 1899 in Russet, WV ^{1 11}.)

  Marriage Notes:

When Mahala Huffman-Fowler, died in Nov 1899, the father, Lloyd Fowler, kept two sons (Willard Dye and Obert) while the oldest third son (Alda) and two daughters (Bertha and Reta) were sent to live with their maternal grandfather, Absolom Huffman. The third daughter, Abby Fowler, shows up with the grandfather, Absolom Huffman, on the 1910 US Census but it is not known where she was for the 1900 US Census.
