Etta Stump, 78, of Grantsville, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 1996, at Roane General Hospital,after an extended illness.

She was born in Grantsville, a daughter of the late Francis Elsworth and Sarah Alice Starkey Smith. She was a former mercantile clerk in Grantsville and a member of Millstone Church of Christ.

Surviving are three sons, Roger D. Stump of Five Forks, Donald H. Stump of Grantsville and James R. Stump of Alum Bridge; one granddaughter, Barbara Michelle Stump of Grantsville; one step grandson; and two step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Madison Hays Stump; one sister, Eva Spellman; and one brother, Delbert Smith.

Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Hunt Cemetery, Big Bend.
