  General Notes:

In addition to the 1870 US Census record of Greene County, Pennsylvania, there is another 1870 US Census record for a Hulda Travis living in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Because most of her other residences were in Greene County, which is in the southwest corner of the state, it is doubtful that she ever lived in Franklin County which is in the south central part of the state. The record in Franklin County shows a 34 year old Hulda Travis born in Pennsylvania instead of Virginia, living with the B. L. Peder family, and she is without occupation. This is probably not the correct Hulda Travis.

What I believe to be the correct census record shows her living in Greene County with 6 children. But even this record from Greene County is not without doubt as it shows her name as "Huldy". Her husband, Travis, supposedly had died in 1868 so who was this Almaden Travis that was living with her? Her name was listed first apparently making her the head of household. The name of a 34 year old Almaden Travis immediately followed her name. Was she just living with Almaden who might have been a brother to Wesley or perhaps she had remarried to Almaden by this time. The 1870 US Census records do not provide relationships so there is no way to tell from the census record.
