NOTE - Henry Fast had only one nephew named John, and he was John T. Fast, the son of Martin V. Fast. He was born on 15 Feb 1865 which would have made him 15 years old at the time of this 1880 census. That age is very close but not exactly the age of 14 that was given for this nephew living with Henry and Mary.

John T. Fast, was living with his father, Martin, and mother, Grace Ann McCray and was enumerated with them on their 1880 Census on 5 Jun 1880 which was 3 days prior to the enumeration for Henry Fast and his family. They lived in nearby Ruggles Township in Ashland County. The exact distance between the farms of the two families is not known and may have been very close if they both lived near adjacent boundaries between Ruggles and Troy Townships.

The nephew John that was living with Henry Fast must have been the same exact person as John T. Fast, son of Martin Fast, as he could have been enumerated twice, or he could have been a different nephew whose parentage is not yet known, or he could have been someone who was not really a nephew but perhaps a cousin.
