  General Notes:

George was the son of George Kelley and Christena Kastor. His parents were divorced a few years later and his mother was remarried to Detlef Petersen who adopted George and his sister, Lillian. Detlef died 4 years later and George's mother was remarried once again to Andrew Meyer.

Because George was adopted by Detlef Petersen at such an early age, George's name was universally used on almost all records and documents as George William Peterson. The only exception appears to be his birth records in 1878 and his census enumeration in 1880.
