 General Notes:
His father was Lt. Ambrose Salisbury (1742-1804). He fought at Bunker Hill. His mother was Sarah Whitman, descendent of John Whitman of early Weymouth, Mass. Stephen and Eliza came to Chicago in 1831. He fought in the Black Hawk War. They raised a large family at Wheeling, Illinois. He came to Oregon 1n 1852 and his family followed later by ship around the Horn. He died in Marion Co. 31 July 1858.

Stephen married Eliza Bagley on 1 September 1831 in Weymouth, MA.1 2 (Eliza Bagley was born in 1805 in Massachusetts,5 died on 11 October 1890 5 and was buried after 11 October 1890 in Vinson, OR 5.)
