John Danner ^{1 2}

   Other names for John were John Darner and John H. Dorner.

  General Notes:

John was a day laborer, or farmer so he and Julia had a tough time providing for their family. That's why so many joined the Northern armies of West Virginia in order to survive and help their parents out. John and Julia left Maryland around 1860 and lived in Hampshire County, Virginia (now West Virginia), for about 4-5 years. Julia's parents, the Arnolds, also moved to Hampshire County as well.

Researching the name of John Danner is difficult. There is the documented John Danner who married Julia Ann Arnold. The is a documented son also named John Danner born about 1832 who married Mary McDowell. And there appears to be yet another documented son named John Danner born about 1840 who appears in the 1850 and 1860 census records.

So the question is if the father, John Danner, actually had two different sons each named John Danner?

John married Julia Ann Arnold, daughter of Jacob Arnold and Elizabeth, on 23 April 1834 in Frederick, Maryland, United States. (Julia Ann Arnold was born in 1810 in Frederick, Maryland, United States ² and died on 10 March 1883 in Frederick, Maryland, United States.)
