  General Notes:

A few researchers indicate that Abraham was once married to Ann Ash but no dates or source citations have been provided.This marriage would seem unlikely given that he first married at age 20 and then within one year of the death of his first wife, he remarried again to Mary Ann Zartman. Abraham was about 70 years old when Mary Ann died and it is unlikely that he ever married again.

However, there is a marriage source for Mary Ann Zartman and Wilford Ash on 27 Mar 1851 in Perry County, Ohio. Unfortunately, Wilford died about 18 months later on Oct. 26, 1852 and is buried in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville, Perry County, Ohio.

Thus, when Mary Ann was remarried to Abraham Springer in 1855 in Perry County, Ohio her married surname would have been Ash and she possibly was known by "Ann Ash" in one or more documents.
