bullet  General Notes:

Sometime between 1900 and 1910, Leonard was sent from his widowed mother to live with his uncle, Willard Grant Bowman. He appears there living with Willard and his wife at the age of 12 and remains there with them for at least another 10 years showing up in the 1920 US Census. It was a perfect fit for Willard and his wife who had no children of their own.

I have not yet found any of Leonard's sibling sisters who would have all been in their teenage years between 1900 and 1910. I'm wondering if the widowed mother, Pearl, may have remarried and some or all of the children were split up amongst relatives.
