William married Emma A. Fast, daughter of Henry S. Fast and Susan B. Conner, about 1876. (Emma A. Fast was born in 1856 in , Fairfield County, OH,1 2 3 died on 26 August 1930 in Fort Wayne, IN 1 2 and was buried after 26 August 1930 in Saint Marys, OH 1.)

Supposedly the husband's name was "William" which does not match this census name of " Fred". However, the birth year of Emma seems to match as does the birth locations of her parents.
