Neither Rufus nor Lena are found in the 1920 US Census. Rufus appears in the 1930 US Census where he is a boarder with another family while Lena was living at the home of Dain and his family. All of which leds to speculation that they might have been separated or divorced sometime after the birth of Beulah in 1912.
