"He completed the course in the public schools and taught for four years in Nebraska, Washington, and Idaho. After his return to West Virginia, he was married in 1912 to Mable DIXON. By this marriage he became the nephew of his brother Rufus whose wife was an aunt of Mable (DIXON) FAST. They resided at Gassoway, West Virginia for several years where he did carpentry in the shops of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. In 1926 they moved to Penny Farms near Green Cove Springs, Florida."
