"Fletcher Hyer Fast was born 6 Jul 1889. He was graduated from the Sutton High School and taught school for several years. Later he attended dental college at the University of Maryland and has practiced dentistry in Eccles, Raleigh County, West Virginia; Widen and Clay, Clay County, West Virginia; and Charleston, where he associated with Dr. H. H. Smallridge. He returned to Widen in 1929 where he now practices his profession. On 24 Oct 1919, he was married to Myrtle Murphy, daughter of Benjamin F. Murphy. He and his wife are prominent in the Sunday School work of the Methodist Church of Widen."

10 DR. F. H. FAST, 55, DIES AT CLAY HOME

Dr. Fletcher H. Fast, 55, of Clay, one of the state's prominent dentists, and president of the Kanawha Valley Dental Assoc., died Thursday night at home after an extended illness.

A native of Braxton county, he was born near Sutton, July 6, 1889. He was a graduate of Sutton high school, attended Marshall college and received his degree in dentistry from the University of Maryland. He was a member of Clay Masonic lodge, A. F & A. M., No. 97, and was a Shriner and district deputy of grand lodge at the time of his death. Dr. Fast also was secretary-treasurer of the Clay Rotary club, a member of the Clay Methodist church and president of the West Virginia Youth conference of the Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Murphy Fast; a daughter, Mrs. Mark E. Krachler of Peckville, Pa.; three brothers, Harry A. of Penny Farms, Fla., Herman O. and Howard G. of Charleston; a sister, Mrs. H. C. Fox of Frametown; two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Hardman and Hardman mortuary at Clay and additional rites at 3 p.m. at Humphreys Memorial church, Randolph St. and Maryland Ave. Dr. Joseph C. Hollman and Rev. R. H. Daugherty will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial park.
