Columbus - Jennifer Feakins, formerly of Oberlin, just last week picked out a hall in Lorain for her wedding reception. But that wedding will never take place. Miss Feakins, 22 was killed Thursday after being struck by a car in Columbus, where she was attending classes at Otterbein College. She was taken to Saint Ann's Hospital in Westerville, where she was pronounced dead.
A native of Oberlin, Miss Feakins graduated from Firelands High School in 1989. While home this summer, Miss Feakins worked as a correspondent for The Morning Journal. Timothy Morgan, Miss Feakins' fiance, said yesterday he heard the tragic news after returning from Christmas shopping yesterday. I called my mom (Thursday) to pick me up to go Christmas shopping. I got her (Jennifer) everything on the list. Morgan said he came home to find Miss Feakins' brother and sister waiting at his door. I said " Is something wrong?", and they said Jennifer was in an accident. I said " Is she OK?" and they said "She's dead," Morgan said. Details of the accident were not available from Columbus police last night.
