• His obituary was published after 1 March 1942 in , Lorain County, OH. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 PM at Sedgeman's Parlors, for Joseph Henry Feakins, who died at his home, 244 East Lorain Street Friday morning.

Mr. Feakins had been a resident of Oberlin for the last forty years. He was born in Sullivan Township, Ashland County on May 13, 1862, and had lived in that county for forty years. On March 29, 1885, he was united in marriage with Lucinda Nancy Fast of Sullivan. Five sons were born to them, three of whom are now living: Zello, Glenn and Charles, all of Oberlin .

The Family came to Oberlin in 1902 and he became sexton of Westwood Cemetery. He served in this position for 26 years, retiring in 1928. He had been in poor health for several months, and has been tenderly cared for by his wife. March 29, 1942 would have been their 57th wedding anniversary.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. O. Bonikowsky, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Brother Odd Fellows served as pall bearers. The burial was made in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin, Lorain, Ohio.
