  General Notes:

Some researchers want to show his death date as 1927 in Erie County, Ohio but the actual name on that record was Hiram Faust and not Fast. There appear to be no records that are specific after 1900 for the Hiram Nelson Fast that was born in 1827. While there are multiple birth and marriage records during the 1920s with that name, those records are all for his son, also named Hiram Nelson Fast. In fact, on the 1910 US Census, his 2nd wife was enumerated and she declared that she was widowed. When she died in 1919, her death certificate indicates that she was widowed. Therefore it must be assumed that Hiram Nelson Fast died sometime between 1900 and 1910.
