EDITH M. HOSSLER, 85, longtime resident of New Carlisle, Ohio, Tuesday, January 28, 1997 at 7:36 PM at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, Ohio. She was born January 15, 1912 in Goshen, Indiana, the daughter of Franklin and Emma (Sando) Holdeman. She was a graduate of Dayton Teacher College and taught for five years in the Dayton area, active member of the New Carlisle Missionary Church. She is survived by her husband Horace, with whom they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 19, 1997; three daughters, Esther and husband, Philip Bailey of New Carlisle, Elizabeth Hossler of South Bend, Saint Joseph County, Indiana, Ruth Carter of Springfield; three sons, James E. and JoAnn Hossler of Dodge City, Kansas, William A. and Margaret Hossler of Port Huron, Michigan, John P. and Colleen Hossler of Madison, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Sue LaVoie of Tucson, Arizona; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister Nancy Phipps of New Carlisle; sister-in-law, Hazel Holdeman of New Carlisle; seven nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by son, Kenneth L. Hossler in 1981; brother, Ralph [C. Holdeman; and sister-in-law, Ruth M. Wood. Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 1, 1997 at New Carlisle Missionary Church, New Carlisle with Pastor Kenneth Frisch officiating. Burial in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 PM Friday in the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN & CHRISTMAS FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Carlisle Missionary Church.
