Marriage Notes:
The Wayne County Index of Marriages, Vol. 6, Page 112, shows a marriage between Elizabeth Lightfoot and Isaac Mowry on 31 Sep 1862, officiated by S. Seachrist, Min. Note that there are only 30 days in September so the minister made a mistake when he wrote down the date that the marriage was performed. ----------------------------------------

Newspaper Article: A HOME COMING
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Mowrer of California Were Greeted by Many Friends and Relatives
In honor of the homecoming of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Mower of Cucamouga [sic], California, a family reunion was arranged for Monday, September 6, at the hospital home of Mrs. Mowrer's brother, F. Lee Lightfoot, 137 Creedmore Ave., Barberton, Ohio. The day was one of the most delightful of the season, and the host and hostess with their family had made every preparation for the comfort and enjoyment of their guests who came in small delegations until the house was filled. After hearty greetings and pleasant reminiscences had been exchanged, all were escorted to the lawn by the bride and groom and their attendants to partake of the bountiful repast which loving hands had prepared. Merriment prevailed here and all seemed to vie one with the other in making it the most agreeable hour of the day. Later, "lest we forget" an artist was called to photograph the entire group. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Mowrer of Cucamouga [sic], California; Mrs. Martha Carr and daughter Wanda; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lytle and Lorena Carr, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Lightfoot and daughter, David Murry, Orrville; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin T. McClarran, Wooster; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lightfoot and son, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Lightfoot and son, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Miller and son; Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Stine and family of Barberton, Misses Ella and Viola Lightfoot, Evansville, Indiana; Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Schrag and daughter of Massillon; Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Lightfoot, son and daughter of Akron; Mr. and Mrs. W. M Daniels, and family, Wadsworth; Dr. J. Earl Carr, Toledo.
NOTE - I do not have a date for this article but since Martha (Lightfoot) Carr died in 1916, this article would have been published before 1916. I'm also unsure about the use of the terms "bride and groom" but can only assume that it does not mean NEW bride and groom, but rather the previously married couple whose marriage continues. The Mrs. Roy Lytle referred to would be a daughter of Martha (Lightfoot) Carr. Lorena Carr is probably the second daughter of Martha (Lightfoot) Carr. I am unable to determine the relationship of "Warren Lightfoot and daughter, David Murry". Warren's wife's name was Jennie Murray but any children would have the last name of Lightfoot and not Murry/Murray. This could be a typographical error which should read "...and son, David Murray Lightfoot but the obituary for Warren only mentions one son, William Lee Lightfoot". The Mrs. Irvin T. McClarran would have been Harriet Lightfoot. Mr. Lee Lightfoot was Francis Lee Lightfoot and his son. Mr. W. S. Lightfoot would have been Walter Shamp Lightfoot. I can not identify the Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Miller and their son, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Stine. They must have been relatives of Isaac Mowery because there were left no more married Lightfoot sisters. The two unmarried sisters, Ella and Viola, are mentioned as both being from Evansville, Indiana. The Mrs. F. P. Schrag was Lorena who was already mentioned. Perhaps, there was another daughter in addition to Lorena Carr who I have assumed was the only second daughter to Martha (Lightfoot) Carr. The "W. L. Lightfoot" is most likely William Lee Lightfoot, son of Warren. Mrs. W. M. Daniels was Clara Lightfoot, a daughter of Warren. ---------------------------------------- 8
