NOTE - Based on the real estate holdings of Elias Dull as shown on the 1870 census, he was by all means a very wealthy farmer. John L. Hileman's wife was Harriet Dull, a daughter of Elias and they were living with her parents. I am unable to determine just who was the young Mary England from Canada. The last name on the census list is entered by the enumerator first using a solid line to indicate the same surname as the previous line plus the name "Walters J. W.", all of which would indicate a full name of "Walters J. W. England". If this person at age 19 is a brother to Mary England at age 10, then it doesn't make sense why he was born in Indiana but she was born in Canada. However, I believe the straight line in front of his name is a mistake by the enumerator which would mean that the person's real name is "J. W. Walters". Elias' wife was Jane Walters and she had a brother named "Wesley J. Walters". Wesley's birth year is supposed to be 1845 making his age for this census about 25 instead of the 19 entered on this record. And Wesley was just married and living with his wife and baby just a few houses away from Jane. Otherwise I can find no other relative to fit that name. [Brian L. Lightfoot]
