bullet  General Notes:

Jeremiah was previously married about 1861 to Henrietta Hohler. Their first census together in 1870 showed two children, Alice, born abt 1864, and William, born abt 1865.

There is a memorial page on Find A Grave for William A. Brown, born 9 Jul 1866 in Greene Township and died 27 May 1922, also in Greene Township. That memorial page displays an obituary for William. Although the obituary does not mention his father by name, it does mention a stepmother named "Mrs. Jeremiah Brown". The mention of a stepmother likely means that Jeremiah's first wife, Henrietta, died shortly after the 1870 US Census and Jeremiah was remarried to Mary Elizabeth Lightfoot before the 1880 US Census.
