   Cause of his death was metastatic carcinoma of brain.⁶

  General Notes:

There is a little confusion on Irvin's death certificate. The informant was Mrs. William Friend who probably was the wife of a brother of Irvin's grandmother, Mary Ellen Friend. According to the death certificate, Irvin had been staying with them at 1456 Troy Road in Ashland County for the previous 14 days. The certificate also states that Irvin's usual residence was a Rural Route address out of New London but it states Ashland County, instead of Huron County. These were adjacent areas and I'm not sure if the Post Office in New London, Huron County did not service nearby rural route residents even though they may have lived in adjacent Ashland County. For genealogical purposes, it makes it difficult to state where was his residence at the time, in Ashland County or in Huron County. To me, it makes more sense that he actually lived in Ashland County but I'm sure there will be other researchers that will insist that his last residence was in New London, Huron County, Ohio.
