Henry's death location in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is somewhat strange. The death record from Milwaukee is very clear in that it gives his full name, birth date, birth location, spouse's name, and the name of his parents. Yet, after he was married in 1861, he spent his entire life in Minnesota and all of his children were born in Minnesota. He lived almost entirely in Fillmore County, Minnesota near the southeast part of the state. However, his last census in 1900 shows that he had moved to Todd County, Minnesota in the central part of the state. I cannot explain why in 1906 the death record shows his residence in South Milwaukee. If he had some type of medical problem, one would think that he might have been better served in Minneapolis or Saint Paul which was much closer than Milwaukee or the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota which was near his previous residence in Fillmore County. Maybe there was some reason why his occupation as a liveryman required him to tend to some horses or stables in Milwaukee at the time of his death. ![]()
