His unusual given name of Wilmer Otterbein is confirmed by his gravestone at Christ Reformed Cemetery. On the 1880 US Census when he was 5 years old, his name was shown as William. On the 1900 US Census when he was 25 years old, he was living with a widowed aunt, Rhuan Moberly and her daughter. He was shown as single. I can find no relationship to the Moberly family line.
