Marriage Notes:
William was different than most of his siblings who remained around the Richland County, Ohio for almost their entire lives. Following his marriage in Mar 1898, the birth of his first son occurred 5 months later in Morrow County, Ohio.
Then, following the death of his father in 1899, William and his young family moved to Summit County, Ohio where their daughter was born in 1902.
Within 5 more years, they moved to Meadville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where their second son was born in 1907.
Three years later the 1910 census shows them living in Cleveland, Ohio probably near his younger brother Daniel Ross Sackman who was married in Summit County but had also moved to Cleveland.
By 1918, the entire family moved once again to Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania where their son Virgil was married. They remained there through the 1930 census.
The 1940 census shows them living in Philadelphia, PA but according to the information on the census form, William's "previous residence" was in Lucas, Richland County, Ohio but the wife and son's residence was in Cardington, Morrow County, Ohio. Was this a separation of the husband and wife and they got back together or was William temporarily working somewhere? Given the locations which were the areas where each was raised, I suspect that it was a marital separation.
