Gideon was a Gunsmith. At age 14 he had an illness that left him with spinal trouble, he was very humped and crippled. He went to Camden in Gauley, West Virginia where he was engaged in the mercantile business for several years. He sold his business to work in A. E. Goff's general store. He retired four years prior to his death. He made muzzle loading rifles and also was a shoe cobbler. He never married. ![]()
• He appeared on the 1880 US Census in De Kalb District, Gilmer County, WV on 2 June 1880. 2 • He was buried after 17 December 1921 in the Mount Liberty Cemetery in Tanner, WV. |
