bullet  Marriage Notes:

Charles is not shown on the 1920 US Census with Alta in Illinois but her marital status was marked as "married". I have not been able to locate him anywhere for the 1920 US Census. His death certificate issued in 1940 in Plymouth, Richland County, Ohio indicates that he spent the last 20 years in a profession of what appears to be "funeral and undertaking store clerk". I have no idea why Alta would have traveled to Illinois unless she and Charles had split up. (Brian L. Lightfoot)
