• Her obituary was published in the La Crosse Tribune on 16 November 1949 in La Crosse, WI.

Mrs. Amelia Crivits, 86, died suddenly Tuesday at her home in Trempealeau.

She was born Dec. 2, 1862 at Lewiston, Minnesota, and came to Trempealeau at the age of 10 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Kramer. She married William Crivits March 3, 1880. He died five years ago after they had been married 64 years.

She is survived by four sons, William, Ettrick; Theodore, La Crosse; and District and Otto, Trempealeau; one daughter, Mrs. William (Eva) Stephan; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Hanson and Mrs. Norris (Minnie) Northup, Trempealeau, and Mrs. Clara Gill, Waupun, Wisconsin.; one brother, Julius Kramer, Trempealeau, and 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. A sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 PM in the Trempealeau Methodist Church, the Rev. A. E. Atwood officiating. Burial will be in the Trempealeau Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Galesville, Thursday evening.

TREMPEALEAU COUPLE MARRIED 58 YEARS

Trempealeau, Wis. -- (Special) -- Mr. & Mrs. William Crivits observed their 58th wedding anniversary Sunday with relatives and friends. Mr. Crivits was born in Pickwick, Minn, December 25, 1856, and his wife, formerly Amelia Kramer, was born in Lewiston, Minn, December 2, 1862. They were married by the Rev. Owen in the Congregational church here March 13, 1880, and have made their home here since their marriage with the exception of a short time spent in Malina, Ill. where Mr. Crivits was employed as section foreman on the Chicago & North Western Railroad. They have five children, William, Ettrick; Theodore, LaCrosse, and Edward, Otto and Mrs William (Eva) Stephans, Trempealeau; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
