NOTE - What is missing from this census would be cards 526 and 527. Unfortunately, the index for searching this record only has the images of the cards arranged in alphabetic order of the surname. The are no other Schilemans within the images unless those missing cards were misfiled. I believe the two missing cards were mistakes and probably destroyed because Edward and Cecelia had not been married that long so it was doubtful that there were any children. And besides, the card order usually went husband, wife, and then the children in order of birth.

Marriage Notes:
At some time between 1920 and 1925, Edward and Cecelia apparently split up but may not have been officially divorced until some years later. Census records from 1920 through 1930 all show Cecelia living back home with her mother in Webster, Day County, South Dakota with her marital status marked as married instead of divorced. I have not found any records of where Edward Schilleman was living during those years.
On the 1940 US Census, Cecelia was listed as divorced. Someone matching Edward's name and age appears in the 1940 US Census in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was living in a hotel and working there as a hotel clerk but was listed as married without any wife's name being present. Interestingly, on the 1945 South Dakota State Census for Celia, she listed that she was widowed.
